This week is freshers week..for some anyways!
My whole college journey started not last sunday the sunday before that when i moved down to cork!Maybe it was a bit early to start as my orientation wasnt until friday but i wanted to go down!I didnt expect anyone to be in the apartment and there wasnt,i spent the first night on my own,i didnt mind that much,i needed to get used to everything :) the next day i went off with my ma and auntie,we did some shopping and all and then i met with kathy..she had just had her first day of college and she already had work to do,which i thought was a bit harsh!Then i went off with char and her friend meria,it was chars debs and we were on standy by if she needed anything..it was such an amazing day and charlotte looked amazing :) all her friends did!When i arrived back home there was new stuff i the kitchen,someone had moved in..i was so excited!I went off tho,to some lads apartment and watched a movie :) angels and demons which was pretty good :) when i arrived back..the new girl must have been asleep..!I woke early the next morning and went out to meet one of my roomies,aoife :) shes doing dentistry and she seemed nice :) i was excited..when i got back to the apartement with charlotte later that day there was a note on the teble for me from aoufe saying she was going home and that she’ll be back at the weekend :) charlotte stayed with me tuesday and wednesday which was great :) Thursday night turned out to be a pretty lonely one,i was alone and aoife rang she was up in dublin with everyone..all in trevs place,i missed them so much,i got a bit upset on the phone which wasnt good!But then i just thought “Wait my orientation is tomorrow” its gonna be okay!I straightened my hair for my orientation,1st impressions are everything!
Orientation was amazing,i waked in and got there at 8.45 :) early but i like being early!A girl came up behind me and asked if i knew where i was going..my reply was no..i was just walking around,she was doing the same course as me and her name was megan,it was pretty amazing that id met someone already,we foind where we were supposed to be and went to find a seat together!Then we were split into groups and i was in A and she in B,so we said our goodbyes!I got talking to people in my group then,jo michael padraig and susan :) we had lunch together and all and i found out i wasnt the only persons whose not 18,padraig is 17 and his birthday is the 9th of april when mines the 10th,i found that soo weird :) it was deadly..we had many tours and stuff during the day,through the libaray which is the biggest ive ever been in :P then we went down to join the medical society in there sports day :) we played tug of war against them,medical students against biochem..WE WON :) Twice!Then i played GIANT connect 4,i lost!But it was super fun..and then we watched a magic show..if you could call it that..it was super :)
The next day i knew it was marks party and altho i had my name down for some workshops i was so tempted to get the bus home and go out,i so wanted too..it was unreal!Instead i went into ucc and met with dean and ciara,we hung out all day which was cool :) we went to a physics workshop and had to do a quiz which wasa bit of a shock :P it was a laugh and then we watched 2 lads doing a show,like standing on each other and all..it was so funny :) Totally legends!I went home then and chars friends picked me up and we went to buy drink,we were having a house party i taras that night!Iended up not even drinking that much,meh..it just made me feel sick,i still had a good time and i was constantly slagged for being from laois :P it was funny!The next morning when i went home after the party,i just walked into the kitchen when ciara walked in,one of my other roomies,shes doing commerce with spanish :) shes soo nice aswell,we talked for a bit and then she went for a walk!Then sunday night clare arrived and i helped her move it!We went to the tesco express and ate food in my apartment and talked with ciara and her freinds :) it was pretty cool!Its so great getting to know more people and living with such nice people :) sunday night roisin arrived then..the last of the roomies,shes doing nutritional sciences :) and was uber nice aswell..:)
Next morning was monday which meant my first day of college and of freshers week,i was so excited,i went in at 9 and went inot biology,my very 1st lecture :) i sat beside a girl i didnt know,we got talking and her name is amy :) shes so nice and we spent the day together and walked home together,shes living in victoria lodge too :) i was finished at one..and just had 3 lectures,biology maths and chemistry which all went well :) after college i walked into the city and got my lab coat and just looked around town which was pretty cool :) i love my lab coat so much <3 i started making food then and roisin came in with 2 of her friends and she was making them food so we all sat and talked and watched tv and ate our dinner..it wa great..then after wehad tea and a snack bar :) my auntie phoned then and it was great to talk to her :) she said to me about me having a cold..i said i didnt just all of a sudden i got a sore throat..after me clare and kathy met up and walked to the big tesco and i bought 6 lucozades for 1.75 :) what a bargain..we walked home and sat int he kitchen talking..i started to feel a bit more sick..and a bit more and a bit more..then i strated with the coughing and i couldnt stop..aoife came in with her boyfriends kiernan then..whose so nice and doing civil engineering in cit!:) clare nad kathy left and we continued talking :) then i strated getting a temp and my body was aching,ciara came in then and the 3 of us were talking,we were getting closer which is amazing,the both are just so nice :)..i went to bed feeling the worst ever..i woke up feeling even worst yesterday and rang mam in the floods of tears at half 7 in the morning telling her how sick i was..she was goingto collect me at 1!I went inot college,i walked in with amy clare and her cousin kate..i sat in my physics lecture with amy megan and anna nearly dying..i could barely walk home and i just lay in bed till mam came..i said my goodbuyes to aoife and we left..
I was home..during my freshers week i had to come home,i was so sick,it could only happen to me,im rarely sick and then when i am..its when something important is happening which means no ffreshers ball..or clubs and socities day..and i miss lectures!I went to the doctor and he didnt rule out swine flu..but it just looks like the normal flu now,ive just been on the couch all day…coughing and coughing and sneezing and feeling soo rotten..:(
So that was the events of my 1st week in college :)x
